AJC Westchester/Fairfield connects the local community with American Jewish Committee’s global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. Our access to diplomats, elected officials, and interfaith leaders at the local level advances AJC’s broader global priorities: combating antisemitism, promoting Israel’s place in the world, and countering the spread of radicalism and extremism.
Our impact extends well beyond the Westchester/Fairfield community, helping AJC achieve tangible results in the form of government policies, formidable alliances, and hard-hitting legislation that make our world safer and more secure.
AJC Westchester/Fairfield exposes more than 4,000 people to AJC's critical work through over 140 educational programs and advocacy initiatives each year. The region’s proximity to New York City allows us unparalleled access to top-notch experts, diplomats, political leaders, and public intellectuals.
We pride ourselves on the lay/professional partnership that makes our work possible. Eleven volunteer committees—on topics such as diplomatic outreach, interfaith relations, and Israel—produce high-level, engaging programs, including our Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast, the annual AJC Westchester/Fairfield Gala, and the annual Westchester Jewish Film Festival.

How Politics and Nation-Building Influence Israeli Fashion
Stiching a New Identity
Political Influence and Nation-Buidling in Israel Fashion
AJC Westchester/Fairfield's Israel New Perspectives Committee is proud to present "Stitching a New Identity" - a virtual discussion with fashion historian and curator Keren Ben-Horin that investigates how the relationship between national identity, diplomacy, and fashion has influenced the state of Israel from the 1940s through today.
Because clothes announce to the world who we are without using words, they are closely bound to national and regional identities. With vibrant illustrations, photographs, video clips, and never-before-seen archival materials, we will explore key moments, designers, and political figures who shaped Israel's foreign relations and — even more importantly — defined what it means to be Israeli. From biblical fantasies to cutting-edge technologies, we will experience how a young nation forged its identity stitch by stitch.
Join us for the latest program sponsored by the Israel New Perspectives Committee, which is committed to presenting a balanced and authentic picture of Israel and enhancing Israel-Diaspora relations. The program is free and open to the public
