American Jewish Committee (AJC) CEO David Harris praised Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for endorsing the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism.
“Steadfast defense of democratic values and unwavering commitment to friendship with the United States and Israel are hallmarks of your leadership, and models for other nations to emulate,” said AJC CEO David Harris, who presented the award to the Prime Minister in Tokyo. “Japan is a democratic powerhouse in Asia, an essential ally and partner of the United States, a close friend of Israel, and an anchor of stability in a vital part of the world.”
Today, AJC maintains a formal partnership agreement with the Federation of Jewish Communities in Czechia, and AJC’s Warsaw-based Shapiro Silverberg Central Europe Office and Brussels-based Transatlantic Institute engage regularly with Czech officials.
AJC’s current privileged position as an esteemed partner in dialogue with the Catholic Church is the result of seven decades of dedicated diplomatic work by visionary AJC leaders.
With the goals of fostering technological innovation and boosting bilateral academic research and exchange opportunities, the presidents of top U.S. universities and colleges are visiting Israel this week with AJC Project Interchange.
