Since American Jewish Committee (AJC) launched the Mayors United Against Antisemitism initiative together with the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) in late January, hundreds of mayors across the United States have signed the statement declaring unequivocally that antisemitism is incompatible with the democratic values that are at the very bedrock of our society. Join USCM President Mayor Greg Fischer of Louisville, Kentucky, and Mayor Francis X. Suarez of Miami, Florida for a bipartisan discussion on the impact of this powerful partnership in the fight against antisemitism and bigotry.

2021 AJC Philadelphia/Southern NJ Murray Friedman Memorial Lecture

Described by Newsweek as the most influential rabbi in America, Rabbi David Saperstein, Director Emeritus at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom (2015-2017), joins American Jewish Committee (AJC) for the annual Murray Friedman Memorial Lecture. Rabbi Saperstein will discuss the challenges facing international religious freedom, the means to address religious persecution and discrimination worldwide, and the importance of interfaith dialogue.

The Murray Freidman Memorial Lecture honors the legacy of noted Jewish activist and scholar Murray Friedman (z”l), AJC Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey’s Regional Director for over 40 years.

Steven González, Chief Justice of the Washington State Supreme Court, will speak with AJC board members, friends, and allies about the minority experience in Washington and the treatment of minorities under state law. He will share his own powerful story as the first Latino and Jewish State Supreme Court Justice in Washington’s history, and will answer questions and offer insights into the challenges facing each community in the Pacific Northwest moving forward.

Please join AJC Seattle in celebration and commemoration of the Passover holiday, at our annual Intergroup Seder (virtually). Traditionally, the Passover Seder recounts the story from the biblical Book of Exodus, of the Israelites’ journey from slavery in ancient Egypt into freedom.
