Michael Schmidt served as Regional Director, AJC New York through April 2021.


Michael Schmidt, regional director of AJC New York, was previously COO for the Council on Accreditation (COA). Before that he worked for New York Foundation for Senior Citizens, Inc., as vice president/director of programs. A graduate of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and of Columbia and Fordham graduate programs, Schmidt is an adjunct associate professor at NYU's Silver School of Social Work. He served as a non-commissioned officer in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), where he was a liaison between the IDF and the Egyptian Army, the UN, and international non-governmental organizations.
