‘An al-Yahud, AJC’s Arabic Video Series

'An al-Yahud, or About the Jews, is American Jewish Committee (AJC)’s groundbreaking Arabic-language online video series aimed at increasing understanding of the Jewish people in the Arab world. Launched in January 2020, these animated short videos about contemporary Jewish life, Jewish history, and current issues of importance to the Jewish people have reached over 45 million people on AJC’s Arabic-language Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube platforms.

Below are both the English versions of each video, accompanied by links to the Arabic.

What Ties Jews to Israel?

Jews live all over the world – what ties them to Israel? This video explores the unique bonds that Jews have maintained with their historic homeland for millennia. The video affirms the connections of other religions and peoples to the land and asserts that peace between Israelis and Palestinians must be built on acceptance of the historic and spiritual ties of Jews to the Holy Land, alongside those of Muslims and Christians.

Is Israel only for Jews?

Although Jews make up a majority of Israel’s citizens, approximately one out of every five Israelis is Arab, and all citizens are afforded the same rights and freedoms under the law. This video presents the reality of life within Israel, home to a vast range of religious and ethnic groups, where diversity and coexistence thrive.

Protocols of the Elders of Zion

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was fabricated by the Russian secret police in 1903 and exposed as a forgery almost immediately. Nevertheless, the book continues to circulate around the world as truth. Why is it so easy for some to believe in The Protocols? Conspiracy theories may be difficult to dispel, but doing so is vital if we are to tackle the world's real problems.

The Holocaust

The Holocaust was the worst tragedy to befall the Jewish people, when six million Jews were killed during World War II in Europe and North Africa. Though many groups were targeted by the Nazi regime, the Holocaust was a unique case in history of the systematic annihilation of an entire people through meticulous state planning. It is important to learn these historic facts so that a similar tragedy never occurs again anywhere in the world.

Jewish-Muslim Relations

Relations between Muslims and Jews have known their ups and downs, but there is no inherent conflict between the two religions.
