At AJC Global Forum 2025, Danielle Aviran, a member of ACCESS Israel, delivered a profoundly moving tribute in honor of Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. With deep emotion and clarity, she shared the story of her cousin, Amit Peled, an elite IDF soldier who was killed in battle on October 7 while heroically defending others at the Kissufim military outpost.

Through Danielle’s words, we remember Amit not only as a brave and selfless fighter, but as a sensitive soul who loved music, travel, and spreading goodness. His legacy—and the legacy of all Israel’s fallen—continues to guide and inspire.

Danielle was later joined on stage by the AJC ACCESS Israel cohort, many of whom have personally experienced the pain and aftermath of October 7. Together, they called on the audience to stand in remembrance and recite the memorial prayer for Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror.

This powerful moment of solidarity, mourning, and resolve reminds us that remembrance must lead to action—and that even through darkness, we carry their light forward.
