At AJC Global Forum 2025, a profoundly moving session brought together powerful stories of remembrance, resilience, and hope in the wake of October 7.

Danielle Aviran, a member of ACCESS Israel, opened the tribute in honor of Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day. With deep emotion, she honored her cousin, Amit Peled, an elite IDF soldier killed in battle while heroically defending others at the Kissufim military outpost. Through Danielle’s words, we remember Amit not only as a brave warrior, but as a sensitive soul who loved music, travel, and spreading goodness. His legacy—and the legacy of all of Israel’s fallen—continues to guide and inspire.

Danielle was joined by the AJC ACCESS Israel cohort, many of whom have personally experienced the pain of October 7 and its aftermath. Together, they called on the audience to stand and recite the memorial prayer for Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror, transforming grief into unity and resolve.

The program also featured “Light Over Darkness”, a video highlighting the incredible resilience of the Israeli people following October 7. From volunteering and donating to forming new community bonds, ordinary Israelis have shown extraordinary strength—honoring those lost by rebuilding with courage and hope.

The segment was capped off by a singing of Hatikvah, Israel’s national anthem.
