American Jewish Committee (AJC) and Jews around the world have been left completely shaken by this week’s devastating events in Washington, D.C., where two members of the Israeli diplomatic community—Sarah Milgrim z”l and Yaron Lischinsky z”l, cherished friends of AJC—were shot and killed after leaving an AJC gathering for young professionals. In a live online program, joined by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (COP) and Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), we united in grief, reflection, and solidarity—holding one another close as Shabbat approaches, and standing together in strength and resilience.

The program featured Ted Deutch, AJC CEO; Sam Dreiman, Member, AJC ACCESS Global Board and Sachs Fellow; Fernando Lottenberg, OAS Commissioner for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism; Former President, Jewish Confederation of Brazil, Rabbi Noam Marans, AJC Director of Interreligious Affairs' Melanie B. Nelkin, Chair, AJC Board of Governors; Benjy Rogers, AJC Director of Middle East and North Africa Initiatives; and Gérard Unger, Vice President, Conseil Représentatif des Institutions Juives de France (CRIF).
