As Americans prepare for midterms and Israelis reflect on their own national elections, political and ideological divisions continue to shape public life, Jewish communities, and the relationship between them. At a time of rising polarization across the West, many are grappling with how to engage across deep differences without compromising their values. This is the third annual joint program as part of the Sacks Global Day of Learning. Drawing on the timeless teachings of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, this conversation explores how Torah and Jewish values can help us engage meaningfully with those whose political, religious, or ideological views differ from our own; resist the pull of tribalism and ideological camps; and strengthen relationships across widening divides.

This program is part of AJC’s Year of Jewish Learning.
