At AJC Global Forum 2025, President Santiago Peña of Paraguay was honored with the Gesher Award, presented by Tony Meyers, AJC Executive Council, and Dina Siegel-Vann, Director, AJC’s Arthur and Rochelle Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs (BILLA). This powerful moment celebrates Peña’s courageous leadership, moral clarity, and unwavering support for the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

President Peña has taken bold steps in the fight against terrorism and antisemitism, including designating Hamas, Hezbollah, and the IRGC as terrorist organizations—a first in Latin America. In December 2024, he reopened Paraguay’s embassy in Jerusalem, deepening the historic bond between Paraguay and Israel.

Watch this inspiring tribute and hear from one of Latin America’s most principled voices on democracy, human rights, and global Jewish advocacy.
