In memory of Lawrence Ramer

After the horrors of World War II, AJC became the first Jewish organization, in 1949-50, to seek contact with the Federal Republic of Germany. This groundbreaking effort led, among other things, to the creation of the AJC-Konrad Adenauer Foundation Leadership Exchange Program in 1980. AJC, in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, agreed to bring American Jewish leaders to Germany and German young professionals to the U.S. to learn about Jewish life, the legacy of the Holocaust, the scourge of antisemitism, and the transatlantic partnership, in what has been described by American and German participants alike as a “life-changing experience.” Please join us as we commemorate the 40th anniversary of this exchange, which has produced two generations of notable American and German alumni committed to this critical relationship.
