Dear [Name],
I hope this letter finds you well.
In the spirit of friendship and understanding, we are writing to you with a sense of urgency and concern regarding the ongoing crisis in Israel. Please view AJC CEO Ted Deutch’s tweet on the attack HERE and visit AJC.org/IsraelHamasWar for more pertinent information.
During the early morning hours of Shabbat on October 7, Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel, storming communities and homes and kidnapping and murdering civilians.
As of this note (January 9, 2024), more than 13,500 rockets have been fired into southern and central Israel, putting millions of Israelis at risk. More than 1,200 Israelis have been killed and over 12,000 more injured or critically wounded, and the numbers are rising. Twenty-seven U.S. citizens were among those that have been killed.
More than 134 Israelis—including children and the elderly—and citizens from other countries that span the globe have been kidnapped and are being held hostage in Gaza.
This horrific, brutal massacre is an affront to our values as Americas; it should inspire nothing less than horror and condemnation.
As a valued and respected community leader, we humbly ask you to use your voice and platform to stand in solidarity with the people of Israel against the brutal, indiscriminate terror attacks carried out by Hamas.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance.
Sincerely,
