American Jewish Committee “Advocacy Anywhere” Offers Innovative Online Programs

April 13, 2020 – New York – The rich menu of American Jewish Committee (AJC) Advocacy Anywhere online conversations, probing hot topics in the news, continues to draw hundreds of thousands of viewers around the world. 

The online weekly series of programs is the global organization’s latest initiative. AJC quickly pivoted from its traditional in-person diplomacy and advocacy to interaction through online and other means during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“AJC is actively continuing to expand its global reach by using available communications technologies and a social media platform of over 2.3 million followers,” said AJC CEO David Harris.

How Will Coronavirus Impact Jewish Life in Europe? This insightful conversation with Jewish leaders in Belgium, France, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom, moderated by Seffi Kogen, AJC Global Director of Young Leadership, has been viewed by more than 48,000 people on Facebook.

Coronavirus on the Eve of Easter and Passover: A Catholic-Jewish Conversation on Faith and Interreligious Cooperation in Trying Times. Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York and recipient of AJC’s Isaiah Award for Exemplary Interreligious Leadership, joined AJC’s Rabbi Noam Marans for a discussion of Catholic-Jewish relations and the challenges and opportunities in celebrating holidays at this time. This special pre-Passover, pre-Easter program has been viewed by more than 88,000 on Facebook.

Monday, April 13, 4 PM (ET) – Celebrity Passover Storytime, featuring actor Joshua Malina, who starred in “The West Wing” and “Scandal.”

Tuesday, April 14, 12 PM (ET) – The Post-Corbyn Labour Party: A New Era? Lord John Mann, Independent Adviser to the UK Government on Antisemitism, will discuss efforts to combat the rise of antisemitism in the UK, and whether or not British Jews can regain trust in the Labour Party under its newly-elected leader, Keir Starmer.
