At the center of American Jewish Committee's advocacy are our U.S. regional offices that empower leaders across society to counter rising antisemitism, support Israel, and advance democratic values. Our regional offices reinforce and amplify AJC's global efforts throughout the U.S. to shape a new future in which Jews in America and around the world can live and continue to thrive in safety and security.
The impact of our advocacy includes:
- AJC San Diego: The San Diego City Council adopted the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism after AJC direct and sustained advocacy, formalizing the use of the Definition as a critical tool in the city’s ability to address antisemitism wherever it emerges.
- AJC Dallas: With guidance and expertise from AJC, the Independent School District in Plano, Texas, created a comprehensive, 14‑page Action Plan to combat antisemitism throughout their schools.
- AJC New York: Led by AJC’s advocacy and coalition building, New York State now requires every college and university to appoint a dedicated Title VI coordinator to actively prevent and address discrimination, including antisemitism.
- AJC Palm Beach: AJC’s team continues to work with the FBI and local sheriff’s offices on expanding antisemitism training programs to better safeguard Jewish communities in the area.
