American Jewish Committee (AJC), the leading global Jewish advocacy organization, is supporting IsraAID, the Israeli humanitarian relief organization, in confronting the coronavirus in China. The virus, which has so far claimed the lives of more than 800, and infected at least another 30,000, originated in Wuhan, China, and has set off a global health alert.

“With IsraAID on the ground in Wuhan, we are able to provide relief supplies, mainly protective gear for medical teams dealing with the coronavirus,” said Shira Loewenberg, Director of AJC’s Asia Pacific Institute.

Aiding China is the latest in a long series of cooperative arrangements between AJC and IsraAID to help alleviate humanitarian crises and disasters around the world.
