AJC praised the U.S. House of Representatives for adopting the Iran Ballistic Missiles and International Sanctions Enforcement Act (H.R.1698).
“Iran’s continuing development and testing of ballistic missiles threatens regional and global security, and violates UN Security Council resolutions,” said Jason Isaacson, AJC Associate Executive Director for Policy. “Identifying and targeting governments and firms that support Iran’s ballistic missile program, or that engage in conventional weapons transfers with Iran, is critical to containing this menace.”
Introduced by Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) with original support from Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Steny Hoyer (D-MD), the Iran Ballistic Missiles and International Sanctions Enforcement Act passed today by a vote of 423-2.
