Rachel Schneider, Imam Abdullah Antepli, Emmanuel Acho, and Rabbi Brian Strauss (pictured, from left) joined fellow supporters at the American Jewish Committee Houston’s (AJC Houston) 2026 annual fundraiser marking the organization’s 80th anniversary. This year’s event featured Emmanuel Acho, co-author of Uncomfortable Conversations with a Jew, in conversation with Imam Abdullah Antepli, president of Rothko Chapel, and Rabbi Brian Strauss of Congregation Beth Yeshurun. The engaging conversation was moderated by AJC Houston director Rachel Schneider. As part of the milestone celebration, AJC Houston honored 80 years of presidents, including Dorit Aaron, Donald Brodsky, J. Kent Friedman, Ann Kaufman, Stephen Kaufman, Bobby Lapin, Jack Lascar, David Mincberg, Marcia Nichols, the late Arthur Schechter, David Simon, Allan Van Fleet, Helene Zadok, the late Reuben Askanase, the late Irvin Kaplan, and the late Jack Lapin.
