The AJC Global Forum 2024 Closing Plenary featured our signature Global Forum session, the Great Debate. Halie Soifer, CEO of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, and Morgan Ortagus, founder of POLARIS National Security and former Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, engaged in a debate on the 2024 presidential election and its impact on the global Jewish community, Israel, and the future of democracy. We heard from U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and leaders on Capitol Hill who are friends and champions of the Jewish community and Israel. Then, AJC CEO Ted Deutch took the stage to deliver his annual call to action. The plenary closed with a special live appearance by world-famous singer/songwriter Matisyahu.

Jewish American singer/songwriter Matisyahu concluded AJC Global Forum 2024 with a resounding message of hope and unity. The Grammy-nominated artist sang hit songs from across his catalog, including “Jerusalem” and “One Day,” inspiring us all to seek light over darkness and continue our unwavering support for the Jewish state and people.

In the face of skyrocketing anti-Israel and anti-Jewish hate toward the Jewish state and the Jewish people, AJC CEO Ted Deutch reminds the world that the global Jewish community—with its strength and unity—will rise above the bigotry.

At the AJC Global Forum 2024 Monday Plenary, we honored three student groups with the AJC Sharon Greene Award for Campus Advocacy, recognizing their extraordinary leadership in confronting antisemitism on campuses at this tumultuous moment. We also heard from Ronald Liebowitz, President of Brandeis University, and University of Michigan President Santa Ono, on safeguarding Jewish life on campus in the current climate. In addition, we were joined by Cypriot Foreign Minister H.E. Constantinos Kombos and heard from Israeli Prime Minister H.E. Benjamin Netanyahu. Plus, a panel of leading Israeli journalists, representing a wide range of political and ideological perspectives, gave us an inside look at Israeli current affairs.
