Evelyn R. Greene AJC Chicago Regional Office connects our community with American Jewish Committee’s global advocacy work to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel. Our access to diplomats, elected officials, and interfaith leaders at the local level advances AJC’s broader global priorities: combating antisemitism, promoting Israel’s place in the world, and countering the spread of radicalism and extremism.
Through meetings with Chicago-based diplomats, our Diplomatic Committee empowers AJC leaders to further our top policy priorities and discuss issues of mutual concern. Each year, we engage with the local consulates of more than thirty nations.
Our Intergroup, and Interreligious Committee advances AJC’s pioneering role in advancing interfaith and intergroup relations. AJC Chicago leadership has been at the forefront of establishing and deepening engagement with the Muslim, Christian, Latino, Greek, African American, and Asian American communities to build mutual understanding.
AJC Chicago’s Government Outreach Committee hosts meetings with elected officials as a strategic platform to advance key policy initiatives. By engaging directly with lawmakers, committee members provide insight into the priorities and concerns of the Jewish community, and foster relationships that help shape policy outcomes. These meetings are opportunities to communicate positions on specific issues, and also allow AJC to build long-term partnerships that ensure our voices is heard at every level of government.
AJC Chicago provides local Jewish community leaders educational and advocacy opportunities, giving them the tools to make a difference. In addition, AJC'sACCESS Chicago initiative empowers today's young Jewish leaders.
Whether our engagement takes place at intimate diplomatic advocacy meetings or at large events with civic partners, we build bridges that connect our communities and create opportunities for cooperative action.
