Bobby Lapin, a native of Houston, Texas, is AJC’s National President and a founder of Lapin & Landa, L.L.P., a civil trial firm, where he specializes in commercial litigation and personal injury and wrongful death cases. Bobby’s previous leadership roles at AJC include Chair of AJC’s Board of Governors, Chair of AJC’s Contemporary Jewish Life Commission, Chair of AJC’s National Legal Committee, and President of AJC Houston.
Bobby has also served as Board Chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, President of the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston, President of the Board of Trustees of the Emery/Weiner School, and President of Congregation Beth Israel. He was presented with the David H. White Distinguished Leadership Award by the Houston Jewish community in 2010 and the Joy of Education Award by The Emery/Weiner School in 2011.
Bobby is married to Eve Salzman Lapin, a retired social worker, and is the proud father of two sons, Elliott and Alec (Christine). He is the even prouder grandfather of Jack Lapin of Tampa, Florida. Bobby also serves in a volunteer capacity as Development Director and Counsel for The Stop ALD Foundation, which raises money to fight Adrenoleukodystrophy, a terminal, degenerative neurological disease which took the life of Eve and Bobby’s eldest son, Oliver, at age 12. Bobby holds a B.A. in English Literature from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of Texas Law School.
