Tammy Gillies serves as Senior Vice President, Regional Offices at the American Jewish Committee (AJC), where she oversees the strategy and operations of AJC’s nationwide network of regional offices. A seasoned nonprofit executive with extensive experience in community leadership, organizational transformation, and fundraising, Tammy brings a deep understanding of the critical role regional offices play in strengthening and advancing Jewish communities.
Prior to her current role, Tammy led the successful launch of AJC San Diego, building a high-performing team, engaged lay leadership, and a strong development program that generated more than $1 million in new revenue during its first year. She has also played a key role in regional strategy initiatives and organizational transformation efforts across AJC.
Before joining AJC, Tammy spent more than a decade with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). During her tenure, she significantly expanded community engagement, launched innovative programs, strengthened strategic partnerships, and helped achieve a 150% increase in fundraising. She also served on ADL’s national transformation team and provided leadership to several of ADL’s west coast regions.
Tammy began her career in operations and manufacturing before transitioning to Jewish communal service, where she discovered her passion for building organizations, developing leaders, and creating meaningful community impact. Tammy is a native New York, who spent 20 years in California and currently resides in South Florida.
