On January 2nd, while many celebrate the new year, Laura Milstein’s AJC family will also celebrate her as she begins a new adventure after 11 years as Director of Development.

Reflecting on Laura’s tenure, Regional Director Alan Ronkin said, “Laura is a woman who believes in what is possible…. There are never limits for her.” During her time at AJC, Laura grew our annual campaign from $500,000 to more than $2,150,000, significantly boosting the organization’s ability to respond to emerging threats and build capacity for the future.

Though Laura often credits AJC’s leaders and partners for fostering a culture of philanthropy, supporters say they became more engaged because of her personal investment in them. During the pandemic, when fresh produce was often scarce, Laura would take the time to bring food from her farm in West Virginia to share with community members. For Laura, AJC was never just a job. As she said, “AJC’s work is deeply personal. Furthering the wellbeing of the Jewish people and ensuring security and safety for Israel is an expression of who I am and will continue to be.”

Beyond her legacy of hard work, dedication, warmth, and success, Laura will leave a lasting impact as a member of AJC’s Visionaries Society through the inclusion of AJC in her estate plan. In making this commitment, she shared, “As a Jew, my life’s work has been to cross boundaries and promote understanding. After 11 years with AJC, I am proud to continue living my values as a member of the Visionaries Society.”

As we wish Laura the best in her next chapter, we invite you to consider joining AJC’s Visionaries Society. Planned gifts, made through your estate, are vital to AJC’s future financial stability. These gifts allow you to continue supporting AJC while retaining use of your assets during your lifetime, serving as another testament to your leadership and values.
