American Jewish Committee (AJC), the leading global Jewish advocacy organization, is partnering with IsraAID, the Israeli humanitarian relief organization, to provide urgent coronavirus relief in India.

In India, new daily cases have surpassed 400,000, overwhelming hospitals and causing shortages in critical medical supplies. With a substantial donation from AJC, IsraAID is providing emergency relief by providing critical medical equipment and supplies, and training in mental health support to frontline health workers.

“We are proud to partner with IsraAID in delivering critical emergency relief during this crisis, as well as in providing long-term support for India’s healthcare workers,” said Shira Loewenberg, Director of AJC’s Asia Pacific Institute. “India has long been a friend to Israel and to the Jewish community, and we are glad to be able to provide assistance in this time of need.”

Aiding India is the latest in a long series of cooperative arrangements between AJC and IsraAID to help alleviate humanitarian crises and disasters around the world.
