MIAMI--American Jewish Committee has named Michael Teichberg its first Director of Strategic Partnerships, as part of its Miami and Broward Regional Office team.
Teichberg will manage the organization’s corporate and high-tech partnerships in Broward and Miami-Dade counties to produce advocacy programming in support of AJC’s mission of combating antisemitism, fostering pro-Israel relationships, interreligious affairs and upholding human rights and democratic values.
“At a time when the Israeli and South Florida tech sectors are becoming increasingly aligned, it’s vital we ensure the interests of the Jewish community and the story of the start-up nation that is Israel be made known to the corporate world,” AJC Miami Director Brian Siegal said. “Michael’s deep experience will enable AJC to be a conduit to both sides of that equation.”
A native of Puerto Rico, Teichberg is a graduate of Tufts University who worked for more than a decade in human resources for nonprofits and education technology startups. He led teams and supported operations in 15 countries across South and Central America, Africa and Australia.
Motivated by the rise in antisemitism and a passion for Israel, Teichberg joined the Jewish National Fund-USA in 2018 as a director of fundraising campaigns and community programming for Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
Teichberg, who lives in Miami Beach with his wife Rachel, is also the founder of InventivHR, a boutique Human Resources practice supporting non-profits and tech startups. He is also the founder of the SoFlo-Israel Tech Innovation Entrepreneurship Council, the premier invite-only networking group connecting South Florida entrepreneurs, investors, and tech companies to Israel’s tech ecosystem.
“This is an exciting time to be joining AJC,” said Teichberg, who began in his new position on Nov. 28. “Many South Florida businesses see the benefits of aligning with Israel’s ecosystem and vice versa. It’s our aim for the community to be guided by the reality of what’s happening on the ground rather than the perception. My mission and ultimate goal is to provide goodwill advocacy for Israel and the Jewish people, by creating value and connection for the business and startup community.”
At AJC, Teichberg will also engage Jewish and non-Jewish Latin American community members, overseeing programming by the local Latin American Task Force (LATF) in conjunction with AJC’s Washington, D.C.-based Belfer Institute for Latino and Latin American Affairs (BILLA) and consulates across Latin America.
