Jewish Students' Bill of Rights to Help Parents, Schools Combat K-12 Antisemitism

American Jewish Committee, Jewish Federations of North America, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (COP), and StandWithUs (SWU) have released a Jewish Students' Bill of Rights, calling on schools and districts to take six concrete steps to ensure that every Jewish student can attend school without fear of harassment, bias, or shame. The document arrives as new data identifies K-12 schools as one of the few settings where antisemitic incidents have not declined, and as the High Holidays fall within the first weeks of the school year in most districts.

AJC Commemorates 85 Years Since the Jedwabne Pogrom

Today, American Jewish Committee (AJC), the global advocacy organization for the Jewish people, joined the Polish Jewish community in remembering the at least 340 Jews who were murdered in the Jedwabne Pogrom. Eighty-five years ago, on July 10, 1941, more than 300 men, women, and children were burned alive in a barn in the Polish town of Jedwabne. As confirmed by Poland’s own Institute of National Remembrance, this horrific crime was carried out by the victims’ Polish neighbors, incited by the occupying Nazi German forces. In recent years, there have been efforts from far-right extremists to deny these facts.
