AJC Academy: An Overview of the Global Interreligious Scene Today

AJC International Director of Interreligious Affairs, Rabbi David Rosen, introduces his overview of AJC’s involvement in global interfaith relations by highlighting AJC’s pioneering history and achievements in the field. In addition to reviewing Jewry’s main relationships with the Christian world, in which AJC has played such a leading role, Rabbi Rosen will report on and assess recent historic inroads with the Muslim world and offer a review of the broad range of work and issues of focus of the major world multifaith bodies in which AJC assumes a prominent position. David has been described as AJC’s Ambassador for Judaism to the Religions of the World.

AJC Academy: David Harris on the Soviet Jewry Movement (Part 2)

This is the second session in a two-part AJC Academy series on the Soviet Jewry movement, one of the most successful human rights campaigns in modern history. Part 1, a recording of which can be viewed here, focused on the decades-long struggle to let Jews emigrate. Part 2, will focus on what happened to the nearly two million people who emigrated. David was active in the campaign for many years, and was the only Russian-speaking American activist who had unique vantage points from Moscow, Leningrad, Vienna, Rome, Washington, New York, and Jerusalem.

Campus Crash Course: Muslim-Jewish Relations on Campus: New Opportunities and Persistent Challenges

This campus crash course will dive into Muslim-Jewish relations on campus in the U.S. in discussion with Rabbi Yonah Hain and Dr. Amina Darwish, Campus Rabbi and Muslim Life Coordinator at Columbia University. The discussion will include a brief overview of the current moment for Muslim-Jewish relations in America, and an exploration of successful models of partnership and common challenges. Students will have the opportunity to engage with these two campus faith leaders building partnerships as well as with Dr. Ari Gordon, AJC’s Director of U.S. Muslim-Jewish relations. Students will connect with peers across the country as we consider best practices for Muslim-Jewish partnership and coalition building on campus, even as we raise pressing questions regarding challenges.
