Global Jewish Advocacy in the Queen City

AJC Cincinnati connects our community with American Jewish Committee’s nonpartisan, global advocacy work. Our access to high-level decision makers at the local level enhances AJC’s broader engagement priorities throughout the world: countering antisemitism and the spread of radical extremism, opening doors to and for Israel, and advancing democratic values.  

Our impact extends well beyond the Cincinnati community, helping AJC achieve tangible results in the form of government policies, formidable alliances, transnational collaborations, and community education that help shape a more dignified and peaceful future.

AJC Cincinnati engages in sustained advocacy with local and national government officials, honors civic leaders and social change-makers, organizes substantive public programming such as our annual Community Intergroup Seder, and develops long-standing relationships with many faith, ethnic and international communities.

Online antisemitism has become one of the primary ways hatred against Jews is experienced, amplified, and normalized today. In this program, Holly Huffnagle, AJC's Director of Antisemitism Policy, will examine how antisemitism manifests across social media and emerging technologies, the role misinformation and disinformation play in shaping public understanding of Jews and Israel, and the real-world consequences these trends have for Jewish communities.

The session will conclude with an interactive discussion and Q&A, providing an opportunity to explore the challenges, opportunities, and future of combating antisemitism in the digital age.

Nearly 48 years ago, Justin Friedman received the American Jewish Committee's Human Rights Medallion in recognition of his dedication to building understanding between Jewish and non-Jewish communities, his leadership as President of the Cincinnati Chapter of AJC, and his involvement in numerous organizations. Together, Justin and his wife, Frances, established a family tradition of community service that has spanned generations. Today, that legacy lives through his children, Jim and Meredith Friedman, and Kathy and Louis Claybon, whose collective leadership and contributions to Jewish life and the Greater Cincinnati community are being recognized with the 2026 AJC Community Service Award.
