Andrew H Gross is the Regional Director of the American Jewish Committee (AJC) in New York. In the city with the largest Jewish community outside of Israel, he leads the organization’s efforts across advocacy, diplomacy, public affairs, and civil rights.

Throughout his career, Andrew has worked at the intersection of government, business, and community affairs, both in the United States and globally.

Previously, he oversaw international relations at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority where he led efforts to expand global partnerships and foreign direct investment. He launched the state's first facility to assist companies entering the United States market and participated in economic missions to over a dozen countries across the Middle East, East Asia, and Latin America, including with former New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. He served as the authority’s foreign affairs liaison to the Office of the Governor and Office of Homeland Security, including through the transition to Governor Mikie Sherrill.

Prior, Andrew was announced by Governor Murphy in 2019 as the Executive Director of the New Jersey – Israel Commission, the largest state board in New Jersey. He oversaw and expanded the state’s relations with Israel, including through the launch of New Jersey’s business attraction office in Tel Aviv while deepening ties with the Israeli-American technology community. He also advised on Jewish affairs throughout the Murphy Administration.

Previously, Andrew served as the Director of Political Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel in New York, where he worked closely with Ambassadors Ido Aharoni and Dani Dayan during their tenures as Consul General.

Early in his career, Andrew was a Fellow at the global public relations firm Burson-Marsteller in their crisis communications and digital practices.

Andrew was born in New York City and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. He holds a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University, Elliott School of International Affairs, and speaks conversational Spanish with a working knowledge of Hebrew and Arabic. He is a member of the Councilor's Society of the Atlantic Council, a member of the New Jersey – Israel Commission, and a past member of Manhattan Community Board Six in New York City.
