On Jan. 12, Deutch joined Amb. David M. Satterfield at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy. The two discussed rising antisemitism, U.S.-Israel relations and the broader implications for global stability. Deutch stressed the importance of fact-based, nonpartisan dialogue, noting that “understanding the facts is the first step toward effective action.”

The following evening at Congregation Beth Israel, Deutch spoke before an audience with AJC national president Bobby Lapin about the organization’s advocacy efforts, from combating antisemitism to strengthening international alliances. Drawing on his years in Congress and now as AJC CEO, Deutch offered practical insights on amplifying Jewish voices and advancing the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Both events drew strong crowds: a standing-room-only audience at Rice, nearly 300 at Beth Israel and about 80 guests at the AJC VIP Donor Reception preceding the evening conversation. Attendees praised Deutch’s clear, thoughtful approach and his focus on tangible solutions for Jewish communities.
