American Jewish Committee welcomed the Biden administration’s release of Allied Against Hate: A Toolkit for Faith Communities as part of the effort to implement the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism.

American Jewish Committee (AJC), the global advocacy organization for the Jewish people, has created a series of guides to help various sectors of American society implement the recommendations put forth in the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism.

“Antisemitism can never be rationalized. Kanye’s antisemitic tirade has caused significant harm to Jewish communities around the world and directly contributed to documented antisemitic incidents in the United States. Adidas’ CEO Bjørn Gulden’s insensitive comments call into question Adidas’ true commitment to countering antisemitism. I call on Gulden to set the record straight and demonstrate that Adidas, which was late to condemn Kanye’s antisemitism in the first place, is taking antisemitism seriously.”

American Jewish Committee (AJC) has presented its prestigious Human Dignity Award to Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, one of the world’s most respected Islamic scholars and a champion of religious freedom, peace, and enhancing Muslim-Jewish relations.

American Jewish Committee (AJC) remains deeply disturbed by the inclusion of speakers with well-documented track records of spewing antisemitic venom at the Palestine Writes event at the University of Pennsylvania. AJC believes that the university and affiliated departments need to make clear that they will not be associated with an event that hosts such hateful speakers and will ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Jewish students. AJC also believes the university needs to closely examine the process by which such programs are endorsed and funded by the university or its departments. AJC continues to stand in solidarity with the Jewish community at Penn. AJC CEO Ted Deutch will join Penn Unity Shabbat on Friday night to stand with Penn’s Jewish community during this time and celebrate the resilience of these students in the face of antisemitic bigotry.

Since this event was announced, American Jewish Committee (AJC) has been in close contact with Jewish students at the University of Pennsylvania, along with Jewish organizations on campus, and university administrators.

American Jewish Committee (AJC) today announced its latest step in helping implement the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, tapping more than 35 lay leaders from across the country to join AJC’s implementation task force.

American Jewish Committee (AJC), ADL (the Anti-Defamation League), The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law, and Potomac Law Group announced today they filed suit on behalf of the Brandeis Center against the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) for alleged violations of California’s open meetings law, including failing to provide proper public notice before approving multiple ethnic studies courses containing anti-Jewish bias and for refusing to protect the public, including members of the Jewish community, from intimidation and harassment at Board meetings.

American Jewish Committee today issued this statement in response to an address by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, in which he justified the Holocaust and made many blatantly false, antisemitic allegations.

Following a threat by X owner Elon Musk to sue ADL for defamation, American Jewish Committee CEO Ted Deutch issued this statement: “Like ADL, AJC and the global Jewish community have been fighting rising antisemitism online and in the public square, a goal all social media companies should share."

Jews have settled all across America for centuries, not just in big cities. While the Jewish presence in rural areas may be smaller, antisemitism remains a growing problem in those communities. How to change that narrative is part of the U.S. National Strategy to Combat Antisemitism, released in May by President Biden. Gavriela Geller, Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Bureau/AJC Kansas City, said the focus on rural areas was both needed and welcome.

American Jewish Committee met with Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, a forceful advocate against antisemitism, at a conclave of many of the world’s religions and movements that is guided by a message that allyship and freedom to worship are needed more than ever.

American Jewish Committee (AJC) CEO Ted Deutch today revealed the structure, direction, and priorities for a task force to implement the White House strategy to counter antisemitism and help ensure the U.S. Jewish community is safe, strong, and secure.

American Jewish Committee (AJC) issues statement following the verdict handed down by a Pittsburgh federal court jury in the 2018 Tree of Life synagogue shooting, the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history.

The statistics that chart the rise in antisemitism online and on social media are nothing short of alarming. Telling that story is the impetus behind a new media campaign from American Jewish Committee (AJC). At its core are four short videos that highlight the pride as well as the peril of being a Jew in America. The campaign also features non-Jewish allies to emphasize that antisemitism is not just a Jewish problem; it is one that all of society needs to solve.

American Jewish Committee issued a statement in response to an antisemitic remark made by former baseball star Johnny Bench.

American Jewish Committee and the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced a new effort to help small business owners recognize, respond to, and help prevent antisemitism and other forms of hate.

Social media executives said today they are committed to clamping down on antisemitic content. However, at a hearing facilitated by American Jewish Committee and the European Jewish Congress, lawmakers told them those efforts have fallen short.

Justice has been served. We realize it does little to ease the pain for the families and friends of the 11 people murdered at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh simply for being Jewish and practicing their faith. However, we hope this verdict allows them to continue the slow process of healing if not closure. The memories of those taken will always be a blessing. Countering the antisemitic hate that invaded their sacred and joyous space must be the job for all of society, not just the Jewish community.

American Jewish Committee will work with the European Jewish Congress to help European Jewish communities tackle rising antisemitism and bring more attention to looming threats and foster a more vibrant Jewish life on the Continent.
