H.E. Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia (2014-2019) (2004-2009) and current Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross, has been courageous and outspoken in his appeal for Indonesia, home to the world’s largest Muslim population, to engage in dialogue with Israel.
Religion is playing an increasingly pervasive role in Indonesia, threatening its national ideology, a tradition of pluralism, inclusiveness, moderation, and tolerance that is known as Pancasila.
“Our annual visits to Seoul demonstrate our continued support for the U.S.-ROK alliance and staunch belief that a U.S. presence in the region is vital to peace and security,” said AJC Asia Pacific Institute (API) Director Shira Loewenberg, who led the 14-member delegation.
“The U.S.-Chinese relationship is arguably the single most important bilateral relationship in the world,” said Shira Loewenberg, Director of AJC’s Asia Pacific Institute, who led the 15-member group.
