Founded in 2000 by AJC Atlanta, today, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival (AJFF) stands as the largest Jewish film festival in world, and the largest film festival of any kind in Georgia. In 2014, AJFF officially became an independent non-profit arts organization that continues an active partnership with its founding agency, AJC.
It is the enduring belief of AJC that understanding grows out of shared experiences, and stories are often the best way to foster such experiences. More than just “a night at the movies,” film is contemporary storytelling with the ability to impact the way audiences feel, think and behave after leaving the theater. In addition, these screenings are enhanced by guest appearances with filmmakers, actors, authors, academics and other experts who discuss the movies and answer audience questions.
AJFF is the past recipient of prestigious grants from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and National Endowment for the Arts, and generously supported by more than 120 other corporate, foundation, government and individual sponsors.
