Deadline for Applications: January 6, 2020

The AJC New England Global Advocacy Fellowship is dedicated to the development of a new generation of AJC leaders who are equipped to meet the complex global challenges that will shape the future of Jewish life. Adults aged 38-52 who are selected to be Global Advocacy Fellows will participate in a 5-month program that will introduce them to AJC’s unique high impact approach to advocacy.  Those who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to become more active participants in AJC’s work.

What Can You Tell Me About AJC New England?
AJC safeguards the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel, while promoting human rights and democratic values for all. AJC New England is the regional gateway to AJC’s global network, which is comprised of 34 offices across the United States and around the world. In coordination with our national and international colleagues, AJC New England undertakes high-level diplomacy, political and legislative advocacy, and effective interreligious and ethnic outreach to impact vital issues affecting the future of the Jewish people, human rights, Israel, and democratic values.

Who Should Apply to Become a Global Advocacy Fellow?
The Global Advocacy Fellowship is for highly motivated people with demonstrated leadership skills, a commitment to Jewish life and a passion for securing the Jewish future.  Successful candidates will have an interest in applying what they learn upon completion of the program, hopefully with AJC.  They will also appreciate the special relationships between philanthropy and leadership. Finally, allowing for unanticipated circumstances, the successful Fellow will be expected to be an active participant in the program throughout.

What Will Global Advocacy Fellows Do?  What Will They Learn?
The answer to both questions is – a lot. The program will provide opportunities to:

  • Learn about AJC’s unique diplomatic approach, locally, nationally and globally
  • Build a network of like-minded, motivated individuals
  • Engage with diplomats, legislators, interfaith partners, and community leaders
  • Participate in local, national and global advocacy campaigns and Insider Briefings

Meetings and programs will take place once a month from January through May, ending with an invitation to AJC New England’s Board Social in June. In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in other AJC initiatives according to a Fellow’s interests.
