LEGISLATIVE OUTREACH
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) Chicago office actively engages in outreach to legislators at all levels of government throughout the Chicagoland area, fostering relationships that support Jewish communal priorities and democratic values. Through regular meetings, policy briefings, and strategic advocacy efforts, AJC connects with city, county, state, and federal officials to educate and collaborate with them on key issues such as combatting antisemitism, supporting Israel, protecting religious freedom, and promoting human rights. Maintaining a strictly nonpartisan approach, AJC Chicago works to ensure lawmakers are well-informed and equipped to act as allies on issues of shared concern.
In addition to direct engagement with legislators, AJC Chicago organizes educational forums, social gatherings and public affairs events that bring together elected officials, AJC members and diverse community leaders. These programs help build trust, promote understanding, and encourage coalition-building across political and cultural lines.
