American Jewish Committee’s Transatlantic Friends of Israel Opens Italian Chapter

The Transatlantic Friends of Israel (TFI)—the interparliamentary, cross-party network spearheaded by the American Jewish Committee (AJC)—launched its Italian chapter to strengthen the ties between Europe, and specifically Italy, the United States, Canada, and Israel. TFI Italy Chair Senator Marco Scurria announced the launch in the Italian Senate with the support of 16 bicameral lawmakers from Fratelli d'Italia, Lega, Forza Italia, Noi Moderati, and Partito Democratico.

Joint Statement by Jewish Communal Organizations in Response to White House Strategy to Combat Antisemitism

In an era of rising antisemitism in the U.S. and around the world, we appreciate the clarity and urgency demonstrated by the White House in releasing its National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism. We welcome the embrace of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism, which is a continuation of longstanding US policy and a critical tool in the fight against anti-Jewish hate and bias. We look forward to collaborating with the White House and Congress to ensure the implementation of this National Strategy.

American Jewish Committee Welcomes U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism

American Jewish Committee (AJC) welcomed the Biden administration’s release of the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism. The National Strategy is the first whole-of-government approach in the United States to counter antisemitism in its multiple and distinct forms and comes as studies by AJC and other Jewish organizations found an alarming rise in antisemitism and more American Jews feeling less secure.

American Jewish Committee Calls Updated FBI Hate Crime Statistics a Good Step Toward Understanding Depth of Antisemitism in U.S.

AJC welcomes additional data in the 2021 Hate Crimes Statistics Report and thanks the FBI for efforts to bridge the gap from the incomplete data in the report, which is the only official record on the state of hate in America.
Supplemental hate crimes data was report from 96 reporting agencies in nine states and reflects hate crimes data from major Jewish population centers such as Los Angeles and New York City.
