Celebrating our Diverse Roots and Shared Values
America’s Table is an annual Thanksgiving event convened by American Jewish Committee’s Community of Conscience.
AJC Houston is pleased to this year present America’s Table as an hour-long televised broadcast with our partner KPRC – Channel 2, on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24 at 5:00am, and again on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 8:00pm during Thanksgiving weekend.
The program will feature the many faces and communities of Houston, who all contribute to make this city one of the most diverse, welcoming, and resilient places in the country. In Houston, in Texas, and across America, each of us is entitled to a place at “the Table.”
While some of us may have to look further back than others, we each have an immigration story to tell. Our stories help define our unique self-identities, and yet we share experiences and perspectives that now make us unmistakably American.
America’s Table - in the wake of a devastating pandemic, racial tensions, and many other divisions in today’s society - is an opportunity to reconcile our conflicting opinions and find common ground in our collective conscience, our Community of Conscience.
Just after Thanksgiving, a holiday that unites us all, we call on all people of goodwill to join with the leadership of the Houston Community of Conscience and stand united against the divisive and hateful rhetoric that has cast a shadow over our political and civic discourse.
Tune in to America’s Table KPRC Channel-2 Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 8 PM on Thanksgiving Weekend
