Rachel Urman

Rachel Urman joined AJC as Northern California Regional Director in May of 2023. She previously spent eight years at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) as Regional Synagogue Initiative Director for the Pacific Northwest. In that capacity she was responsible for rabbinic engagement, development of strategic partnerships with synagogues from central California through Alaska and all of AIPAC’s synagogue-based fundraising and political advocacy efforts in these states.
Rachel previously worked as an attorney in Toronto, Canada, in policy and stakeholder relations at a Bay Area start-up and as an adjunct professor of comparative law and ethics at Santa Clara University. She has served on the Board of Directors of Congregation Kol Emeth in Palo Alto and on several board committees at Kol Emeth and Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School. Rachel earned her BSc in Psychology and Bioethics at the University of Toronto and her LLB from McGill University.
Rachel lives in the South Bay with her family.
