Your Department
Project Interchange (PI) serves as a strategic tool for all AJC institutes, departments and offices. PI develops and implements customized delegations in Israel in Israel for current and emerging U.S. and international leaders. These educational experiences advance understanding of Israel and build strong relationships with key global changemakers, advancing AJC's long term objectives and advocacy goals.

This position makes an impact at AJC by managing work with moderate, but important impact on the organization's mission and goals. Works with regular oversight to solve moderately complex problems and make moderate and significant decisions.
Incumbents manage programs, projects, initiatives, and events that advance AJC’s mission and advocacy efforts. Working under direct supervision, this position is responsible for planning and executing departmental strategies, engaging and communicating with influential stakeholders, and building coalitions and partnerships.
Your Role
Specific to This Role
The Assistant Director, Project Interchange – Program Development serves as the principal point of contact with organizational and external partners in planning many of Project Interchange’s (PI) twenty-five plus annual delegations in coordination with other members of PI’s program team. The incumbent manages, monitors and maintains budgets for PI delegations including timely preparation of projected and final budgets, expense reports, payment requests, and budget reconciliation. Additionally, they oversee research, recruitment, and communication with prospective participants. This position develops and edits delegation content including invitations, pre- departure materials, itineraries, donor reports, and information included on the mobile app for each delegation.
Moreover, the incumbent must be available for timely questions or emergency situations while delegations are taking place and provide detailed pre-departure orientations for delegation participants and staff. The Assistant Director must maintain contact with participants, the AJC Jerusalem office, and staff to identify, record, and share the outcomes and impact of each delegation. Furthermore, the position may supervise a PI Senior Associate or intern/ fellow when applicable and provide ongoing mentoring and managerial support.

Compensation
The salary for this position is $68,000 - $80,000 depending on relevant experience and location.
