The Assistant Director, Campus Affairs will oversee the implementation of AJC’s student-facing work on college campuses, including enhancing the image of Israel on university campuses, combating antisemitism on campus, and connecting Jewish students to world Jewry. This role will oversee AJC’s student-facing strategy across the country. S/he will also be critical in designing the national and regional Leader for Tomorrow (LFT) alumni experience. In partnership with others on the Alexander Young Leadership team, this role will expand AJC’s campus efforts to address growing antisemitism and anti-Israel rhetoric experienced by university students.

- Oversee the implementation and refinement of AJC’s Campus Affairs program to help college students develop a strong Jewish identity and train them as advocates for Israel and voices against antisemitism.
- Work closely with AJC High school Affairs to establish a national LFT alumni strategy and opportunities for LFT alumni on campus.
- Create relevant educational resources and materials for Jewish students as well as for social media, AJC lay leadership, and outside partners.
- Serve as AJC’s expert voice on issues pertaining to Jewish students on the college campus.
- Act as a resource to Jewish college students or groups who are facing antisemitism or anti-Israel incidents.
- Develop and engage students through national and regional campus programming.
- Collaborate with AJC's network of regional offices to develop responses to local campus challenges.
- Recruit for, organize, and implement student programming for AJC's annual Global Forum and other national student programs.
- Organize relevant student summits that support AJC’s intergroup work on college campuses.
- Assist in developing campus-related elements of AJC’s Leaders for Tomorrow (LFT) curriculum.
- Represent AJC in both internal and external programming to expose stakeholders to the organization’s Campus Affairs work.
- Work closely in partnership with the Director of Alexander Young Leadership, Director of Academic Affairs, and Director of Contemporary Jewish Life to ensure that AJC’s campus student strategy compliments AJC’s university administrator strategy
- Bachelor's degree, Master’s preferred, and 3-5 years of work experience in the field of advocacy, Jewish education, or Israel-related programming.
- Prior experience in campus programming.
- Self-starter who collaborates seamlessly with colleagues both inside and outside AJC.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Alignment with AJC’s mission and diplomatic style, with knowledge and passion for the organization’s key issues (including Israel, world Jewry, human rights, international relations, foreign policy, and democratic institutions).
- Strong background and understanding of issues related to Jewish identity, Israel, and antisemitism.
- Ability to multi-task and work on many projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff and lay leadership.
- An entrepreneurial mindset; able to identify and pursue opportunities.
- Fluency in social media.
