Over the past several months, shocking and violent displays of anti-Semitism have erupted, hiding under the guise of anti-Israel political expression. The House of Representatives has unanimously approved a resolution that condemns the increasing incidents and expressions of global anti-Semitism and specifically singles out Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan for incitement against Jews and the Jewish state. Now, the U.S. Senate should adopt this resolution or a similar resolution.
The scourge of anti-Semitism, which never entirely faded away after the Holocaust, has been reinvigorated of late, especially in Europe. To combat this threat, AJC is urging European governments and the European Union to provide law enforcement protection where the physical safety of Jews is threatened, collect data on anti-Semitism, and enforce anti-hate speech laws.
AJC's mission is to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel, and to advance human rights and democratic values in the United States and around the world.
