AJC is governed by two main governing bodies: the Board of Governors and the Executive Council.

The Board of Governors guides AJC’s policies and priorities. It meets four times each year to explore and discuss major issues facing the Jewish community. The majority of AJC’s Board of Governors members are elected to their positions, and members may serve on a range of committees or commissions focused on their interests, including International Affairs, Interreligious Affairs, Contemporary Jewish Life, and National Policy.

The Executive Council is AJC’s legal board of directors, and it manages the business and operations of the organization.
