AJC advocates on a broad range of policy issues in Washington, D.C. and around the country. Consistent with its role as an international think tank and advocacy organization at the forefront of the American Jewish community, AJC's advocacy focuses on a variety of international and domestic priority issues.

In carrying out these efforts, AJC works with Congress, the Administration, foreign governments, and an array of ethnic, religious, and civic groups to address Jewish community concerns and promote democracy, pluralism, and mutual understanding.

Pressing international and domestic issues on which AJC focuses include promoting the U.S.-Israel relationship; safeguarding religious liberty; pursuing equality in education; protecting both national security and civil liberties in the face of domestic and international terrorism; reducing American dependence on foreign energy sources; and confronting terrorism, incitement, and human rights abuses worldwide.
