Asia

As the countries of Asia assume increasingly significant economic, political and strategic roles, AJC has developed and maintained key links with governmental and civic contacts throughout the region, pursuing an agenda that includes intercultural understanding, vigilance against anti-Semitism and other bigotry, relations with Israel and support for Middle East peace, and opposition to non-conventional weapons proliferation. Frequent AJC consultations in Asian and Pacific Rim capitals, and with visiting Asian officials in the United States, exchange programs, seminars, research, and publications have focused, in particular, on Japan, India, China, Korea, and Australia, countries with active and growing relations with Israel; additional ties have been maintained with Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
