Shula Bahat
Shula Bahat is AJC's associate executive director and has been with the organization since 1978. Bahat oversees AJC's organizational development and management, leadership development and training programs, and the work of the national leadership structures. She is also centrally involved in AJC policy and program formulation. A native Israeli, she was formerly director of Israeli Programs in American and Canadian universities for the Israeli Students and Academicians Organization in the U.S. and Canada. She studied sociology and political science for her bachelor's degree from Hebrew University, and environmental studies for her master's degree from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. Bahat also served as a career officer in the Israeli Defense Forces for five years and was a captain when she left the Army in 1967. Her positions included Education Welfare and Women's Officer for the Jerusalem division; Operation Officer for the Gadna-Youth Corps, and executive director of the Sociological and Psychological Research division of the I.D.F.
