The Changing World Order: What Role for the U.S. and Europe?

Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and German Foreign Minister and Vice Chancellor Joschka Fischer encouraged a negotiated settlement to the Israel-Palestinian conflict in a conversation with AJC Executive Director David Harris. "Unilateral declarations are not the answer," said Albright. Added Fischer, "It's time for meaningful, serious negotiations." 

Congressional Leadership Award

Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) received AJC's Congressional Leadership Award for combating anti-Semitism, rescuing Soviet Jewry, and defending human rights. Read Rabbi Andrew Baker's remarks presenting the award, and Rep. Smth's acceptance speech.
