AJC's efforts in the area of Muslim-Jewish relations should, according to AJC Executive Director David Harris, remind us "of the long, rich, and often mutually nourishing historical relations between Jews and Muslims in many lands and the extraordinary gifts to humankind that Muslim-Jewish interaction generated in advancing knowledge and culture."

The World Congresses of Imams and Rabbis for Peace in 2005, 2006, and 2008 focused on issues of peace building, cooperation, religion as an instrument of peace, dialogue and partnership, mutual respect, and human rights. They were overseen by the non-partisan, non-religious Swiss foundation Hommes de Parole. The first World Congress established the Permanent Committee for Jewish-Muslim Dialogue, of which Rabbi David Rosen is a member.
