Ami Greener
Ami Greener is the energy specialist and legislative assistant in AJC's Office of Government and International Affairs in Washington, D.C. He is responsible for developing and promoting AJC’s national energy security agenda. He also acts as a valuable resource for AJC chapters nationwide, promoting energy initiatives on the state and local level. Prior to joining AJC, Greener worked as a consultant for the Jewish Funds for Justice in New York. Greener also worked for the Society for Protection of Nature in Israel, managing a campaign to preserve the visual basin of the Old City of Jerusalem and leading a team creating the first Jerusalem Green Map. He also worked as a consultant for the Israeli Electricity Authority, a government body setting electricity standards and prices, and Green Course, Israel’s national student environmental NGO. Greener was born in Israel and grew up in Jerusalem, a son to American immigrants (Olim). After serving four years in the Israeli Defense Force’s Nachal program, combining military service and agricultural life, he went on to receive his Bachelors in Environmental Science and Biology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Greener earned his Masters in Environmental Policy from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, where he wrote his thesis about the Israeli electricity sector. |
