Herbert "Herb" Blecker
Herbert Blecker was born and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BSEE) and received his law degree from New York University. He first served as a law clerk to a Federal Judge in the Southern District of New York and thereafter specialized in Intellectual Property Law during a 50 year career as a practicing attorney. He is now retired but still serves as an official Mediator for the New York Federal Courts.
Herb lives in Rye, N.Y. and is a member of the Board of Trustees of AJC's Westchester Region and is also an active member of Rye Community Synagogue. He is currently Chairman of the Croatia Committee as part of the AJC Diplomatic Outreach program and has participated in AJC missions to Israel, Rome, Jordan, Russia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates,. Oman, Berlin, Tunisia and Morocco.
Herb has two children and five grandchildren.
