Contemporary Jewish Values
Bruce Rubin, Chair
Mission: In keeping with Jewish values of equality for all and respect for human life, one of AJC’s core missions is to promote pluralistic and democratic societies where all minorities are protected. Promoting these values can take many forms, from taking on universal issues, such as human rights and civil rights, to addressing specific issues affecting the Jewish community, such as religious pluralism in Israel or the “who is a Jew?” issue.
AJC National promotes these issues and values through the Jacob Blaustein Institute for the Advancement of Human Rights (JBI) in New York, through its Office of International and Governmental Affairs in Washington, D.C. where it works with the Executive and Legislative branches, and through its Contemporary Jewish Life Department in New York.
AJC Westchester is now the first regional office to seek to bring to life these values at the local level under the banner of one Committee - a new Committee, called Contemporary Jewish Values.
