AJC Westchester Gala 2012 Honoree Candy Gould
Candy Gould was born in England and moved to the States with her husband, Leon and son, Robert in 1986. She has a B.A. from Leeds University in Social and Public Administration. She trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and Touche and prior to leaving the UK worked for Marks and Spencer p.l.c., in their international finance division.
In the US she has raised her two children, Robert and Kate while participating in various community activities of her synagogue, U.J.A. and the Larchmont/Mamaroneck hunger task force. She has recently started a new business with her daughter Kate - House of Colour Manhattan - a personal color and image consultancy.
She became involved in the Westchester Region of AJC in 2001 and has served in many leadership roles in finance, community outreach, Israel....New Perspectives and most recently as Regional President from 2009 to 2011. She has served on the regional Executive Committee since 2003 and currently participates in the Diplomatic Outreach Program on the Singapore, Australia and New Zealand teams, having travelled to those countries with David Harris in 2011. She was appointed to the National Board of Governors in 2011 where she served on the Nominating Committee and is a member of the Interreligious/Intergroup Steering Committee.
